The M6 motorway construction is one of the largest, ongoing civil infrastructure projects in NSW, with the first stage set to extend the Arncliffe M8 motorway (formerly the New M5 Motorway) all the way to President Avenue in Kogarah. Tempus has been awarded a contract for this project based on our environmentally sustainable practices and our specialised waste disposal capabilities.
Before being granted planning approval, the Department of Planning, Industry and Environment required the M6 Stage 1 project to have a rigorous sustainability plan in effect. As part of this plan, Tempus is providing ongoing waste management, including spoil and contamination disposal, with options for on-site stabilisation and the treatment of contaminated materials prior to disposal.
To power specialised equipment for future construction in the Sydney Metro West area, new cables are being installed between the Rozelle sub-transmission substation and the proposed Sydney Metro West station at The Bays.
Tempus has been engaged to remove and dispose of all spoil and hazardous materials from construction sites during the works, following a route that has been determined based on existing underground utilities and available space in the road pavement for power supply. Our service is aligned to the considerations that went into avoiding residential streets during the route selection, providing a disposal service that conscientiously minimises impact on local communities.
Additionally, we are providing the same service to the power supply works at the Erskine Park Precast Facility site, as part of its involvement in the manufacture of tunnelling segments for the project.

The proposed Parramatta Light Rail project is a twelve kilometre (seven mile) light rail line set to run through Sydney, NSW. Currently under construction, the line will run from Westmead to Carlingford via the western Sydney centre of Parramatta.
Tempus was contracted to the project to oversee the disposal of hazardous and restricted wastes generated during the enabling works and first stage construction process. Our scope covered all material classification, testing and transport logistics, as well as the investigation into possible sustainable treatment options. Throughout the project we sourced cost-effective alternatives to landfill, delivering an adaptable, quality-controlled waste disposal service.
